以循跡線（Tracing Lines）為概念尋找探索菲律賓與臺灣之間的關聯，兩地相近的地理位置造就了從語言到文物各方面相似背景的共同文化遺產。透過循跡線探就兩文化間的異與同，同時也影射「交易線」，代表兩造自數世紀前延續至今的貨物交易行為。其一暗含的主題為「以物件作為資訊的載體」—人們實際上透過工藝物品傳遞訊息，例如：臺灣的瓷器。古代詩人喜歡將作品書寫於瓷器上，以留傳後世。類似的例子亦見於菲律賓民都洛島上芒揚人的傳統哈努諾文詩歌（ambahan），此種詩歌通常使用前西班牙文字蘇拉特‧曼格揚（Surat Mangyan）刻於竹子上，該文字現今仍然存在。這兩種做法雖然不同但相當有趣，且具有相似本質。不僅證明工藝物品可以作為訊息「載體」，同時顯示人們自古便知道材質的力量和潛能，用它們來保存文化遺產。
Tracing Lines is the search for, and exploration of, the connection between the Philippines and Taiwan. The geographical proximity of these two countries afforded a shared cultural heritage - from language to artifacts. Tracing Lines may be considered as an inquiry into the similarities and differences of these two cultures.Tracing Lines also allude to “trading lines” - the exchange of goods that started centuries ago and still carried on to this day. An underlying theme is the idea of “objects as carriers of information” - crafted objects that were used literally as communication tools. An example of this would be porcelain vessels in Taiwan, wherein poets in ancient times preferred to write their piece on porcelain in order to preserve and pass on to future generations. A parallel idea came in the form of ambahan, “the traditional poetry of the Hanunuo Mangyans in the island of Mindoro. Ambahan is usually inscribed on bamboo, using a pre-hispanic script called Surat Mangyan, which is still in existence today .”These two practices, though disparate, are very interesting and quite similar. They not only prove that crafted objects can be used as “vessels” for information, it also shows us that people from olden times knew the strength and potential of their materials, and used them to preserve their heritage and culture.
以燕子作為象徵物祝福台菲共創的未來：在東方，燕子被視為春天的使者。若燕子在屋簷下築巢，更寓意是吉祥的意思。老一輩的人都認為燕子築巢代表風水好、有花開富貴子孫滿堂等吉祥福氣的寓意。在西方，燕子象徵自由、夢想之意，如水手及海軍會在身上紋上燕子圖案，代表他們成功地完成了漫長的航程，寓意能展翅高飛、翱遊天際。
Take swallows as a symbol of blessing the future: In the East, swallows are regarded as the messengers of spring. If swallows build nests under the eaves, it means auspiciousness. In the West, swallows symbolize freedom and dreams. For example, sailors and navy will have swallows tattooed on their bodies, which means that they have successfully completed a long voyage, which means they can fly high and soar into the sky.
